Excruciating pain runs up your leg!  You look down and realize one of your worst nightmares — You have been bitten by a snake!  What do you do next?  Think you know the answer?  YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED!

If you are bitten by a snake in the treat snakebitewilderness… you will need to provide first aid for the snake bite until you can reach help.  Here is a great link for Wilderness Snake Bite First Aid. Note:  The suction method is being debated now… but it’s great to know about anyway…especially if you are far from medical aid.

HOWEVER, if you are bitten by a snake and are able to get to a hospital quickly, you might think  you will receive the best treatment possible there…  Unfortunately — as my friend Victoria Mabry discovered — that is not necessarily the case.

PLEASE READ VICTORIA’S STORY about her snake bite encounter and bumbling treatment at the hospital.  Near the end of her post she shares the proper steps a hospital should take when treating a snake bite victim.

PLEASE READ THIS!  You never know when your knowledge could help save you or a family or friend’s life!!!

Here’s the Link to a post that could save a life — THE SNAKEBITE INCIDENT

14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”        John 3:14-15
